    Huna Model? Empty Huna Model?

Post by Click Sat Apr 21, 2012 9:03 pm

Okay, so I decided to try modelling a bit, so I decided to start with a Noble Huna since it seemed easy. Obviously, I'm not a pro modeller, and it's a work in progress, but I was wondering if I could get some feedback on it. I was also wondering if anyone knows how to keep the lines more straight so I can get the mouthpiece and bottom looking nice.

I'd say it looks nice! Obviously not yet complete, but better then anything I can do. I'm still at a loss on how to do that, but whatever!

Honestly, this is my first Bionicle Model though, besides a simple Kanoka. It just took a quarter of a sphere, lots of extruding, loop cutting, and rearranging points, plus and underlaying image of the Huna to do that, and the front's mess.

Okay, updated with current progress. I messed around with the head a bit, straightened the lines I needed to, added another ridge on the mouthpiece, and added in the hole on top. I need to smooth everything, but I'm going to wait until I get a bit further.

its not bad. there are some verts that need to be moved towards the front of the mask coz if you look they dip in around the eye holes.

here is the one i modeled ages ago. compare yours to mine and see the difference

keep working at it and i think it will turn out really good. just take it slow and carfully look at the topology and try to make it smooth (im talking about topologically smooth not set smooth)

So, it's already been modelled? Well, looking at a comparison, there are a few things from your model that could be fixed, like the line between the two layers of the main mask area (without the mouthpiece), actually blends into the mouthpiece, it doesn't go under it. I'll fix that later.
Oh, and nuru, this is actually pretty easy if you have the mask and a picture in the background, like you did in the Kanoka Tutorial. That's actually what I used to figure out a lot of this. Very Happy I've just been modelling based on the picture, and then fixing what doesn't look right on the actual mask.
